April 2017 saw the launch of our best-selling Black Garlic Ketchup. This delicious ketchup is made from garlic that has been roasted for 45 days (yes, we mean days!) at low temperature, high humidity. The process causes the garlic to turn black, sweet and sticky and we all know those are the best bits when roasting !! We then blend with tomatoes, herbs and spices and a good sprinkle of Anglesey Sea Salt.
Following its launch, the Black Garlic Ketchup went on to win a host of awards including, a Great Taste Award, Great British Food Magazine Award and a World Food Innovation Award.
The success of the Ketchup inspired us to develop a new range of products using this amazing new ingredient. We now have three products in the Black Garlic family including the original Black Garlic Ketchup, Smoky Black Garlic Ketchup (includes Smoked Anglesey Sea Salt and Smoked Water) and the latest addition Black Garlic Pickle which has already picked up a 3 star great taste award. It has a chunkier consistency and has more Thai influenced flavours.
All of these products are great to use as a condiment but are also equally delicious to use as an ingredient in dishes such as Bolognese, casseroles and soups.
