Hawkshead Relish gain 5 more awards at this year's Great Taste Awards

Announced on 01.08.2019, The Hawkshead Relish Company gained another 5 Great Taste Awards taking their overall Great Taste Total to 67 to date.

The Products that picked up the awards are as follows along with the judges comments:

Cheeseboard Chutney 1* - 'A vibrant coloured chutney, the perfect balance of sweet and sour, very versatile'

Kashmiri Tomato Chutney 1* - 'Growing warmth, authenticity of spice and sweetness, very fresh and well balanced'

Fig & Orange Jam 1* - 'Beautifully glossy and flecked with fig seeds and pieces, nothing fake about it, a great combination'

Orange & Whisky Marmalade 1* - ' Good Aroma with a hint of Whisky, good golden colour, fruit rind is cooked but still has plenty of texture'

Bloody Mary Ketchup 1* - 'Deep red, shiny smooth ketchup. Immediately smells of a bloody mary with initial ketchup sweetness but a big kick, a well balanced range of flavours'

The Great Taste Awards are often referred to as 'The oscars of the Food Industry' and set high standards in the world of Fine Food & Drink. This year over 500 judges including food writers, critics and chefs came together to sample over 12,000 products in small teams of 3 or 4 over 65 tasting days. All products are blind tasted and are rated purely on taste/quality of the product.
