Village school finds Hawkshead Relish 'Jamtasic'.
Award winning producers HAWKSHEAD RELISH teamed with the pupils of Hawkshead Esthwaite Primary school to invent a new flavour of jam. The children were given the task to come up with a unique new flavour for a limited edition preserve which would then be sold with proceeds raising much needed funds for the school. Various recipe ideas were short listed and made up by The Hawkshead Relish Company, culminating in a blind tasting (by the children) to select their favourite. The overall winning preserve was a mixed fruit combination of Mango, rhubarb, raspberries and pomegranate the proud inventor being year 5 pupil Ashley Monkman. The school actively worked alongside Hawkshead Relish with the marketing and came up with name ‘Jamtastic’. Maria Whitehead from the Hawkshead Relish Company commented ‘A great deal of fun was had with this joint venture, as well as providing the children with a project that complimented the schools curriculum and ultimately raising school funds’. Jars are available from Hawkshead Relish Shop, Hawkshead Esthwaite School. ‘Jamtastic’ will be available UK wide from the 1st of July.
